Manifesting a house
A charming maximalist home away from home.
Sumptuous Victorian style, modern sensibilities, and a lot of lamps. Onsite photographs will replace these images as we complete renovation.
Curated cozy fantasy
The library
A fireplace, a plush rug, and chairs you forget to get out of. Shelves of cozy fantasy—Belinda's and fellow authors'—so you leave with delightful recommendations to pursue.

A spot to call your own
The desks
The book you meant to write, illustration you meant to draw, or content you meant to curate, has waited ever-so-politely for a room like this. Make it your own, invite the muse, and create.

communal eating
The long table
You're encouraged to take meals together to unwind and reconnect. Creator packages will have the option of day visitor passes, with a strict understanding that these friends can't stay overnight for safety purposes.

Magical vibes
The outdoor experience
Cafe lights overhead, so evenings feel like something is about to happen. Will the fae pop by for a cuppa tea? Perhaps a ghost shall descend from the attic complaining about the noise. Who knows the way of cozy fantasy.

Every Austen-ish story needs a house, the one that's practically a character. Except, this one will be real.
This is your invitation
The wait list is the best seat in the house.
Join the renovation journey with just a moment of your time. After you sign up, you'll get a confirmation email. Reply with one thing you'd love to see in the house. I read every suggestion.
You hear first
When the listing goes live, the list gets the announcement a couple of days before I post it anywhere else.
You get a vote
Paint colors, room names, all the decisions I'm very decisive about until every option is lovely.
You back the project
The renovation wishlist stays open the whole way through, and the first item is Victorian-style switch plates. Pick something, back it, and your name goes in the renovation diary, published in a real book.
You write the commonplace book
Everyone who shares their thoughts is gathered into a book for future guests to find. Every previous guest gets the eBook free.
The Hearthside Commonplace Book of Number (house-number)
A Most Earnest Visitors' Folio of Marginalia, Confessions, and Opinions, Compiled for the Edification of Future Guests.
This project will come together quickly, I hope, when we determine the street number. Everyone on the mailing list, and all house guests, are encouraged t otake a photo of page house-number in their book, and jot a couple thoughts about it. I will curate these submissions into a commonplace book to stay with the house and entertain current and future guests.

Your host
Hello there, I'm Belinda
I write and illustrate cozy Victorian romantasies and you can find me everywhere online as Worderella. I've always wanted an old house, and a business with a building in it.I used to run swing dance weekends for a hundred and fifty people, I helped flip houses when I was younger, and project managing is, unfashionably, fun for me. I know how to find solutions that are solid but affordable, and am bursting with ideas. The house will also anchor a new cozy romantasy series set in Edwardian Ohio. More Jane Austen vocab and modern sass, set right here in my home state. Read the books, then sleep a few rooms away from where their events happen. In the meantime, enjoy my Hesitant Mediums, featuring Victorian women who speak to ghosts, and the men who fall hard and first for them (the women, not the ghosts).
Questions
Things readers have asked.
Where's the house located?
Somewhere in a small Ohio town. I'm still searching, and I'm choosing small towns on purpose: to support local economies, encourage weekend getaways, and keep things affordable. The waitlist hears the location first.
When can I book?
Once I own the house and it's ready for guests. Since it's an old house and a slowly, independently funded project, it will go slowly. The renovation diary list will show you every step.
Why book direct instead of Airbnb?
Weekend getaways will be on Airbnb. Creator retreat packages and day events book directly with me, and the waitlist gets first pick of dates, a vote on decisions, and a name in the renovation diary if you back the project.
Can I host a wedding or shower here?
Yes, small ones. Day events have room for around twenty guests. Tell me what you're planning through the contact form and I'll write back.
What about check in, house rules, cancellation policies?
I'm intending automatic check-in and check-out, we will have a cleaning service, and will hire day-of-coordinators to help with the smaller events. House rules and cancellation policies are coming soon. No pets allowed, unless they are service-animals.
